Low Voltage & Structured Cabling in Iowa

The infrastructure inside your walls determines everything that runs on it. We install cabling that's labeled, tested, documented — and built for the next ten years, not the next ten months.

The Foundation Layer

Cabling Is Where Good IT Starts — or Fails

Slow file transfers, flaky phones, cameras that drop offline — more often than not, the root cause is in the walls. Poorly run, unterminated, undocumented cable costs businesses money every single day.

INTEK handles low voltage scope for new construction, remodels, office build-outs, and cleanup projects across Iowa: data drops, camera and access control wiring, Wi-Fi infrastructure, and full rack build-outs.

  • Cat6 / Cat6A data drops for workstations, phones, cameras, access points, and printers.
  • Fiber optic runs for building-to-building links and high-bandwidth backbones.
  • Patch panels & rack build-outs — organized, labeled, and photographed.
  • Testing & certification on every run before we call it done.
  • New construction coordination with your GC and electrician.

Why INTEK

The Difference Is in the Details

Labeled & Documented

Every drop labeled at both ends, every panel documented. The next move, add, or change takes minutes — not an afternoon of cable tracing.

Designed for What Rides on It

We install the cameras, access points, and phones too — so the cabling is planned around real equipment, not guesses.

Clean Workmanship

Velcro not zip ties, swept floors, sealed penetrations. Our racks are the before-and-after photos other companies post.

Common Questions

Cabling FAQs

Do you work with general contractors on new construction?
Yes. We regularly coordinate with GCs and electricians on new builds and remodels, handling the complete low voltage scope — data, cameras, access control, Wi-Fi, and racks.
Cat6 or fiber — which do I need?
Cat6 copper handles most office connections affordably. Fiber is for long runs between buildings or high-bandwidth backbones. Most projects use both, and we design the right mix for your building and budget.
Can you clean up our existing cabling mess?
Yes — rack and closet cleanups are some of our favorite projects. We trace, label, re-terminate, and document everything so future changes take minutes instead of hours.
Do you test your cable runs?
Every run is tested and labeled before we leave, with documentation showing every drop performs to spec.
